There is no journal or map and only a task tab that helps keep you moving in the right direction. If you have the money, give this game a try. I like the thoughtful chitchat that some players obviously loathed and for me the twists and well plotted confusions added to the intrigue. Also, there are morphs in 16 of the scenes, each one a character from the game. I don't usually enjoy mini-games and most of the time just skip them if they are too challenging. After arriving at your room, Flower Fiesta knocks on your door and you are visited by an old woman [third character] who invites you to tea after you have rested and promises to tell you some stories about the submerged town. And I can't say enough about the story itself which is fantastic but also the visuals which are breathtaking. No one knows what became of the artifact, but if your suspicions are correct, it may be in the loch that surrounds the castle grounds. Driving along a wet, rainy highway, you appear to be lost and decide to check your map. But these are different, so I'm giving them a try. But Phantasmat is the kind of game you will want to play again, because the story is so phenomenal. This game is definitely worth your money.
