Mysteries of Neverville: The Runestone of Light

The runestone of light that has protected the town of Neverville for thousands of years is missing. With nothing to protect the town, an evil fog has surrounded the people inside. You are the daughter of Cygnus Rastlin, the greatest guardian of Neverville and must return to the town to stop the evil from spreading. Find out who is lurking in the fog! Is it the notorious necromancer Grimhall, who was once captured and buried inside a stone chamber by Cugnus Rastlin himself? Who is behind the disappearance of the runestone? Will you be able to save the innocent people of Neverville from their grim fate by restoring the runestone to its rightful place?

But I've never seen this before, you can actually skip HOS after a while. Had a good story and really nice graphics. There is a lot of back and forth, but the hint jumps help out there. At most points in the game there will be a few unsolved puzzles up in the air, the player needing to explore the areas in and around Neverville to find new items so they can return and wrap up unfinished work from earlier. The simple ones are almost too basic to really be considered as true gameplay, but some of the ones that take a bit of time and figuring out are a decent addition to the game. Now it may just be my poor old eyes but the writing looked very blurry to me and gave me a headache! The colors are good, but graphics are a little grainy. My only complaint was the interaction with other characters. Graphics are beautiful. This replaces the totally absent journal and map. But until then, no thanks.

There is no denying that. Despite the fact that the story is Royal Envoy really new, it is a fun game with a Mysyeries level of challenge. The graphics are clear and clean, with art that is quite lovely to look at without getting too whimsical. Music is fine, voice overs are pretty good, the main character's voice is a little over done, and she looks kind of ridiculous in a pose from some girly magazine. Ideal for a sale day or a game coupon. The gameplay is nice. Lovely game. No penalties, but it does take a little while to recharge. Yep, you've guessed it, he's escaped again and is going about his nefarious deeds with the help of wolf spirits and a traitorous local. I loved the wolf spirit. The intro is well done. No map or journal so be prepared to track back if you have been given a clue and maybe have a notebook to hand. But I've never seen this before, you can actually skip HOS after a while. Being bigger is really what this game needs to be a better hidden object game though, with more items in the search-and-find screens and more screens in general being the best way to redeem what is usually the main attraction. The protector of the town has gone missing at the same time as the runestone though, so you play as his daughter Valerie coming to investigate and set things right.   13. These lists ask you to find twelve items on a screen and at best you can only really hope for two or three of them to be hidden well, so some of the joy in finding items is lost when the search goes a bit too quickly. You still have hint, if you want. Lovely game.
