Amaranthine Voyage: The Burning Sky is the 8th edition in this fan favorite and it is also the last. Even though the storyline initially seemed confusing, I love the concept of a once technologically advanced culture now living in a prehistoric world. The graphics, as we have come to expect from Eipix, are stunning. Wished this scene would have lasted muuuuch looooonger. For the most part the graphics are very colorful. And I'm guessing that the No8 accompanying the title is there for a reason The level of detail in each scene is mind-blowing, and the soothing colors make the experience much more magical. Also, I'm not crazy about those ugly interactive HOPs.

From the opening Sherlock Holmes VS Jack the Ripper sequence Thhe the entirety of the game, absolutely stunning! Apart from the tiring save-the-world story, Amaranthine Voyage 2 excels in almost every aspects. The Living Mountain is a fantasy game, so the theme is indeed light-hearted. Most of the time, they are well-integrated into the storyline and are of easy to medium difficulty. From the demo it seems that there is a good blend of puzzles with some being more challenging. One complain though, on the presentation side is that the characters are far too static, despite the cinematics, most of the times their animations are not smooth and could be very annoying.

As for the puzzles, some are quite challenging but most, like in the bonus round the sliding pieces box, are just no fun at all. The locations in this game are perhaps the best I have seen from Eipix so far. All in all, a great game. Eve Glover has taken the gamers to many territories, I was curious to see whereto in this instalment. For fast players, the main chapter of The Living Mountain is likely to end within 4 hours with an additional of another hour of a solid Bonus Chapter. No point in even trying to "solve" some of them! Loved the artwork and story! Some were pretty easy, some took me quite a bit of time to complete. Music themes from former Voyages and new tunes delivered a very fitting background. I did not find any morphing objects in the usual places in HOPS or in the various scenes. I have always loved this series and all eight editions are definitely worth investigating.
