Dead Reckoning: Snowbirds Creek

The small town of Snowbird's Creek is famous for being a historical Klondike Gold Rush town, but now the town is divided on the new railway project that could make or break their little community. When the project threatens to close down for good, the workers go on strike, until the out-of-town railroad tycoon spearheading the project is found murdered. The suspects start piling up, but you must determine who really killed Seth Savage. Search the town and interrogate suspects with evidence to find the truth in this intriguing hidden-object puzzle adventure!

Clues point everywhere and it's hard to keep track of good guys and bad guys. The soundtrack is also pretty good, adapting to the current situation and adding value to the entire experience. Share This:. I am a big fan of Eipix and their Dead Reckoning series and I have shared with my impressions on the previous game in the series. Railroads could make or break the hard workers, some risking their lives panning for gold, others rely on making their money working on Seth's latest tunnel project. The storyline comes as an added bonus, so do give this a try as soon as possible, use a free game coupon even!!! Yes, the mini-games were fairly easy but some were more challenging. I found most of the items to be easily identifiable and even when a scene was done with silhouettes, those were clearly depicted so the items were not overly hard to find. Most of them can be done in seconds, which at least allows you to earn an achievement pretty easily. No devils, demons, etc.. I did enjoy exploring the mine, though, but I wish the defusing explosives sequence had required more thought. There are also morphing objects but they tend to morph relatively fast, so always be on the lookout for them!

Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by mharrsch from Enjoyed Alaska setting but wish there had been wildlife encounters I really liked playing a game set in a real place for a change, in this case, Alaska. Give this one a try before you buy, it's just to iffy of a game. I will start by saying what I like to say each time I play a new game in this series: Eipix have done it again! Instead of finding objects, you are given a list of numbers to find, Concentration leading you to various objects that you need. Technically, each time you interrogate a suspect or examine a body it's in the form of a HOP because you have to find evidence Mahjong World item at a time. Dead Reckoning: Snowbirds Creek is the same with all of the TM games I have played — there is not much that differs from Caves And Castles: Underworld to game. Dead Reckoning: Snowbirds Creek soundtrack is also pretty good, adapting to the current situation and adding value to the entire experience. The information for completing the puzzles was clear so at least when I was stuck I had a good idea where to begin. Worth all the pennies!! But overall, Woodville Chronicles visuals are just great and you will enjoy exploring the frozen village and its surroundings. The information for completing the puzzles was clear so at least when I was stuck I had a good idea where to begin. If you missed any morphs you can get them in the replay. This is the basis for the genre and it is not often that we see something different.

I love that this was detective work and things that could actually happen in the world. I did find one problem with the sounds however. Just like the CE demo, it is challenging enough and keeps you busy. I was pleasantly surprised after reading many so-so reviews. For this reason alone I gave it five stars. The storyline is excellent and consistent without a lot of jumping all over the place so it is fairly easy to follow. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by helsam from Great game! Graphics and voices are perfect. One thing I do like about this developer, is when you do skip a puzzle, it shows how it was to be done. A murder, yes, and a missing person. The scenes have a nice design with the items easy to locate and no eye problems afterwards. Take a chance members. The CE package is very good with collectibles, morphing objects, achievements, a strategy guide, bonus chapter, souvenir room, other goodies and the ability to replay the HOPs and mini-games.

Technically, each time you interrogate a suspect or examine a body it's in the form of a HOP because you have to find evidence one item at a time. I'm sure if you are Dea sick and tired Snowbirde the supernatural as I, you will jump on it. The first HOS was somewhat different. Be Smowbirds first to write a forum post about this game! The only thing I would question about the Snowbjrds worthiness is that the entire game may be quite short if the demo itself is a mere hour, give or take. Fantasy Quest 2 reviewers complained that the HOPs were not very challenging, but I rather like that: I want to have to look a bit, but not to the point that I feel like shoving my fist through the monitor in frustration because I can't find the stupid thing they want me to click on. Two other things to note about the play. Good game for a change, something more normal. It is the same with all of the TM games I have played — there is not much that differs from game Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt game. It is a mystery, after all, so giving it that extra 'OOMPH' can't think of what word I want to use adds to the overall gaming experience. However, Snpwbirds least it was less of the same old, same old though of course there is some of that too. With several degrees Dead Reckoning: Snowbirds Creek difficulty as usual I chose the custom there is a level for everyone. However, I loved this game Vacation Adventures: Cruise Director 6 Collectors Edition at least for me, it is one of the best in the Dead Reckoning series. This developer is one of my favorites and almost always presents Cresk excellent, well put together HOPA game.

The Hidden Object Scenes are typical, with several of the standard type scenes. This was such a relief to play something that was so different than the usual, I can't wait to play it again. Second, you will have to think out of the box a little when using inventory items. However, most of them were excellent and not the type where you toggle switches. Not too challenging, but definitely entertaining. The graphics were very good and I love the fact that the inventory uses unconventional ways to open things in order to move on. Please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed playing this game. Good game for a change, something more normal. It's a buy for me for sure. The color palette includes a lot of browns and golds no surprise there but the scenes manage to maintain a bright look. It is an awesome game. The storyline is excellent and consistent without a lot of jumping all over the place so it is fairly easy to follow.

All in all, a good mix with high quality, even though I would never say no to more hidden object scenes. But overall, the visuals are just great and you will enjoy exploring the frozen village and its surroundings. Not too challenging, but definitely entertaining. In addressing the sameness of most HOPA games, the format is that we look for objects, use those objects, play a mini-game and follow a storyline. The musical score, for example, would build up, but die down in awkward places, lessening my sense of urgency and the desire to continue. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by MelinRI from Interesting Story Line with Gorgeous Scenery I was thoroughly entertained by this and got absorbed into catching the bad guy. 3. If you are prospecting for a game and like this series, you may find this to be an interesting nugget. The puzzles weren't very hard, at least as far as what I came across. It didn't capture my interest enough to continue putting up with the annoyances.

  4. The minigames were varied in difficulty although I had seen most before in other games. Share This:. Looking for these things has me clicking all over on every screen and losing track of the story - so I don't do it anymore.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by pgillenw from It is Deserving of 5-Stars I truly enjoyed the game, played it twice. Second, you will have to think out of the box a little when using inventory items.

  6. I am so glad that finally there is a game that isn't all about princess and Kings and Kingdoms for goodness sake. Perhaps the devs could consider that for a future Dead Reckoning title. As far as whodunits go, I suppose this is a good enough plot, just not one that I could relate to.

  7. Two other things to note about the play. The puzzles weren't very hard, at least as far as what I came across. I love the uniqueness and I really hope that one day HO games will be about things that can happen or could happen or have happened, and in real places in the world. Next time I'll have an idea of what to do. I did enjoy exploring the mine, though, but I wish the defusing explosives sequence had required more thought.

There were at least a half dozen times during the game where I thought, "Wait, you would never use that item to do that. Technically, each time you interrogate a suspect or examine a body it's in the form of a HOP because you have to find evidence one item at a time. I turn down the music so it's a background, but it was loud enough it could get my blood pumping. There are also morphing objects but they tend to morph relatively fast, so always be on the lookout for them!
