League of Light: Dark Omens Collectors Edition

The year is 1866. You've travelled for days to reach a castle hidden deep in the Carpathian Mountains only to discover you've been asked to join the mysterious League of Light, a secret group dedicated to fighting dark forces. You've barely said yes before you're sent on your first mission, to investigate a beast that is terrorizing the mountain village of Sorrow's Well. Is this beast real? Who's behind it? What's really going on in the Dark Lord's castle on the hill? No one ever said being in the League would be easy! Face supernatural beasts in the League of Light: Dark Omens, a dark Hidden-Object Puzzle Adventure game. This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won’t find in the standard version. As a bonus, Collector's Edition purchases count toward three stamps on your Monthly Game Club Punch Card! The Collector’s Edition includes:

There are 34 owls of various kinds and shapes to be found, one in each location, and they are marked on the map when found so you don't have to wonder if you found the owl in a particular location. It always started at the beginning of the puzzle so any progrees you had made was lost for the puzzle only. Loved the achievements, but you must earn them all in order to unlock a puzzle at the end, I had all pieces but one, I cringe when that happens. The gameplay was very straightforward, but in a good way. It had a different feeling than the main game but still tied into the storyline and closed up all the loose ends I had when the main game ended but it also wasn't boring or predictable. The bonus chapter takes things a bit further when you find out that the smoggle has been using you to further his own desires to become the Dark Lord by having you prevent the resurrection and releasing the Dark Lord's magical energy which has been absorbed by his Black Throne and is now being siphoned off by the smoggle. Anyway, there are Achievements to collect in League of Light and they are pretty attractive to hunt for as each achievement will unlock you a Fresco Part in which you can piece together later. Some of the puzzles were very simple and others took a bit of deducing. The collectors edition is well worth the money. Easy to follow, logical story line, inventive mini games that were fun to complete! There are eleven total to be found. Developers: This is a nice direction. A real winner! Overall a great game. There are 11 chapters plus the bonus.

The bonus game on this CE, was unique in many ways, in puzzle and in the ending. There are eleven total to be found. Take some of the HOS and mini games out and add more discovery. Great Game developers, I look forward to more! The game also has some clever things it says on the top although I hope in the next offering there is an option to turn off black bar tips but keep the quips. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Kimmycoo from Intricate detail in everything! When you arrive, you are greeted by the Mayor and offered lodging for the night and as you get ready to retire for the night, a commotion occurs in the room of the Mayor's daughter, Penelope, as she is carried off by a winged beast heading toward the castle. Despite that, the Bonus Chapter of the game is surprisingly awesome. I would expect that advanced players might find the game too simple. You have to stop him but to do so you must find the dwarves who built the Black Throne and learn how to destroy it leading to an excellent absolute conclusion. Anyone could see the absolute intricate detail they put into this game. Yes, it is very entertaining and hooking and it does have an interactive map for fast travel but the overall gameplay is ridiculously easy.

A very enjoyable game not too hard nor easy and I can't wait to play the others The Story of Gimli the series. Puzzles and HOS' are well designed and I like the achievement system. Piece of cake. I usually skip bonus chapters because they are mostly time fillers with too many hidden object scenes just to take up time BUT this one is a true gem because it plays just like the main game. I recommend the CE for the hidden owls, the achievements and the many wallpapers and the extended story line with the League of Light. The game lasted a good 6 or 7 hours. Anyway, there are Achievements Downbeat collect in League of Light and they are pretty attractive to hunt for as each achievement will unlock you a Fresco Part in which you can piece together later. The game also has some clever things it says on the top although I hope in the next offering there is an option to turn off black bar tips but keep the quips. There are 34 owls of various kinds and shapes to be found, one in each League of Light: Dark Omens Collectors Edition, and they are Colkectors on the map when found so you don't have to wonder if you found the owl in a particular location. The puzzles I skipped were in the bonus chapter because like I said I get burned out by then and even though I enjoyed this one more than the usual fare, I still didn't feel like doing all the puzzles they had. There is an excellent interactive map with undiscovered areas shrouded in clouds until they are uncovered and that show present location and locations of interest. Some item Leagye required some thought to accomplish them. Lught: very well done bonus chapter that was as enjoyable as the main game. The music also fits the horror-theme of the game very well Secret Investigations: Themis it does not play in short-loop or being too repetitive. The long abandoned castle of the Dark Lord appears now to be occupied by forces Wonderburg and the Mayor fears someone may be trying to resurrect the Dark Lord and he fears retribution on Laegue and family as his ancestor was the one who vanquished the Dark Lord so many years ago.

WOW this is an amazing game! The map helps with the back and forth aspect but even without it, I did not feel like I went back and forth too much unlike some other games I have played lately. Despite that, the Bonus Chapter of the game is surprisingly awesome. When you arrive at the area where they fell, Penelope is unhurt but the winged beast grabs her and enters the castle locking the gate. One in particular, a smoggle, seems to be your most avid opponent being a faithful assistant to the Dark Lord and intent on resurrecting him. Anyone could see the absolute intricate detail they put into this game. Loved it. WOW this is an amazing game! I give this game a 5 stars on all levels. A very well done bonus chapter that was as enjoyable as the main game. The map helps with the back and forth aspect but even without Colldctors, I did not feel like I went back and forth too much unlike some other pf I have played lately.

There is a cube glyph puzzle where you had to move rows and columns of cubes with glyphs on them and if your cursor went outside the puzzle perimeter, it would crash causing the game to not respond requiring you to task manager close the game and then load again. There are 34 owls of various kinds and shapes to be found, one in each location, and they are marked on the map when found so you don't have to wonder if you found the owl in a particular location. The Mayor has been wounded and asks you to save his daughter. There are 34 owls to collect, 11 scrolls that advance the storyline, achievements. Papers, scrolls, and paintings provide some background information on the Dark Lord and his minnions and how the Dark Lord was defeated. Other then that one puzzle, the game played very well. When you arrive, you are greeted by the Mayor and offered lodging for the night and as you get ready to retire for the night, a commotion occurs in the room of the Mayor's daughter, Penelope, as she is carried off by a winged beast heading toward the castle. One in particular, a smoggle, seems to be your most avid opponent being a faithful assistant to the Dark Lord and intent on resurrecting him. Anyone could see the absolute intricate detail they put into this game. You can not save the music or the concept art the only downfall, but thats ok by me anyway. The objects you gather in Dark Omens are used relatively quickly; no more wandering from room to room, trying to recall where you saw that bolt two hours ago because you've only just located the wrench. The map shows where there is something to do and also where you still need to find owls if you happen to miss but they are so in your face, I found it was hard not to find them. But good variety developers!

  1. Beautiful scenery, lots of puzzles, I loooooooved the Hidden Object scenes, very unique. The long abandoned castle of the Dark Lord appears now to be occupied by forces unknown and the Mayor fears someone may be trying to resurrect the Dark Lord and he fears retribution on himself and family as his ancestor was the one who vanquished the Dark Lord so many years ago. Finding the first item to start the sequence was usually the hardest part. Date published: When you arrive, you are greeted by the Mayor and offered lodging for the night and as you get ready to retire for the night, a commotion occurs in the room of the Mayor's daughter, Penelope, as she is carried off by a winged beast heading toward the castle.

  2. I was finally able to complete it by being very careful where the cursor was. The music, voiceovers and graphics were spot on. I found that even though the game ended with an satisfactory ending that the bonus chapter is NEEDED to finish the storyline.

  3. Despite that, the Bonus Chapter of the game is surprisingly awesome. Great Game developers, I look forward to more! The objects you gather in Dark Omens are used relatively quickly; no more wandering from room to room, trying to recall where you saw that bolt two hours ago because you've only just located the wrench. 4. Yes, it is very entertaining and hooking and it does have an interactive map for fast travel but the overall gameplay is ridiculously easy. We feel like the developer of League of Light focuses more on the story and presentation of the game more than the actual gameplay of the game. Anyone could see the absolute intricate detail they put into this game. They were all well drawn and usually fairly easy to find. The artwork in Dark Omens is also pretty awesome although we would say that some variations of color would be much welcomed; the graphics are surely sharp and fantastic to look at.

  5. The game also has some clever things it says on the top although I hope in the next offering there is an option to turn off black bar tips but keep the quips. Graphics are very impressive and music is catchy. I actually finished it and enjoyed it so kudos for that.

  6. There are eleven total to be found. I took a few small breaks, but still is a good long game. Thank you, Big Fish, for putting this gem on sale for me to find.

  7. You are welcomed to the League but there is no time for celebration as an urgent request for help has been received from Elton Finch, Mayor of Sorrow's Well in the Black Mountains of the Western Kingdom. The hidden object scenes varied between the regular interactive, move the object to get the real object and the kind where you see the item and using it opens up a chest and you get another item which does the same until you get the special item and you can advance. There is an info button but one of the achievements was to finish all the puzzles without using the info button which means you had to figure out just what to do to solve the puzzle. Let's see why They were all well drawn and usually fairly easy to find.

  8. In the last scene, you have reported back to headquarters of your success and are made a full member of the League of Light. I really enjoyed this game from start to finish! 9. It always started at the beginning of the puzzle so any progrees you had made was lost for the puzzle only. All in all, this game was excellent and will be buying the sequels as well!! The gameplay was very straightforward, but in a good way. I am trying to say that I truly enjoyed playing this one instead of being at the mercy of the hint button or strategy guide to find my way through meaningless, illogical action demands. It had a different feeling than the main game but still tied into the storyline and closed up all the loose ends I had when the main game ended but it also wasn't boring or predictable.
